The summer and beach- and the holiday season are about to begin. Before we turn ourselves towards the sky and enjoy the summer break, we’ll remind you how to enjoy the summer holidays in a healthy and safe way. Unlike the tanning salon, sun exposure is not controlled by the outdoors, on the beach, in the home garden and on holiday. Undeniably, we can burn ourselves while doing sports, gardening or enjoying the beach. The skin is in the beginning of the summer very delicate and the risk of sunburn is higher. Although it is generally known that the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) cream protects the skin against UVA & UVB rays and helps to prevent sunburn, it is still a matter of time to repeat the additional questions that are repeatedly asked by the summer season.
FAQ 1: What is the difference between spf and salon cream?
D päike: The biggest and most important difference between the creams is that in the salon (where sunlight is controlled, moderately limited and limited in time), sun creams don`t have a sun protection factor, these products are the creators of tanning. On the other hand, SPF creams are intended for use on beaches where sunlight is not controlled and the suntan is longer than usual. Then skin needs a sun protection cream as the name suggests (SPF-sun protection factor).
FAQ2: Is SPF so-called beach cream, for use on summer only?
D päike: In fact, the SPF cream is suitable for use all year round – during winter if might go on a holiday or some of us use liplux on birthmarks and tattoos. Also SPF faceguard products are suitable for indoor tanning.
FAQ3: Should a suncream be used only in a tanning salon or is it suitable for the beach also?
D päike: In order to achieve a dark and deep tan on the beach, you can really use tanning oils or bronzers also on the beach. It is easy to mix SPF cream with sunburn cream, apply on the skin and enjoy the result. This way, SPF cream protects the skin from sunburn, while the suncream creates a beautiful tan.
FAQ4: What kind of spf should I choose?
D päike: The SPF factor (6, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 50) on the sunscreen bottle helps to calculate how long the SPF cream protects our skin. The natural self-protection period of the skin is usually 10-15 minutes, which must be multiplied by the factor on the bottle. For example, when choosing SPF 10, multiply by 15 for 15 min, resulting in 150 min or 2, 5h. During protection, use the cream every 40 minutes or immediately after active sports, swimming, etc. Surely, the choice of SPF cream should also be considered with the skin type and whether it is in the sun in Estonia or in the Mediterranean, or rather in Asia. We recommend you come to the salon where trained customer service personnel can provide valuable advice and creativity in accordance with the customer’s specific skin type, purpose, and tanning habits.
FAQ5: Are SPF creams organic and also suitable for allergies?
D päike: We strongly recommend the COOLA brand SPF creams, which does not contain skin irritating ingredients, is organic and pure. Before you decide on a product line, we recommend that you first test the cream on the inside of your wrist or neck.
FAQ6: Is regular SPF cream suitable for baby and how often should it be applied?
D päike: As the skin of a child is more sensitive than an adult, we definitely recommend a special cream for the child with the sign “Kids”. The cream should be applied at least 30 minutes before going to the yard and repeat the activity in the sun every 40 minutes. It is important to keep in mind that even in a short 15-min game outside, the skin of the child can achieve a very sensitive sunburn. And that’s even in times when the sun only occasionally shrinks out of the cloud!
